emily edgell

Emily Edgell was born and raised in Southern California.  She has attended the Joffrey Ballet's summer intensive and has danced under the direction of Debbie Allen while performing leading roles.  She has also taught for such organizations as the United Spirit Association, and has choreographed and taught for numerous dance studios, high schools and competitions in California. Ms. Edgell has performed at the Laguna Dance Festival and the SOLA Dance Festival, and has worked with choreographers Regina Klenjoski, Holly Johnston, and Lorin Johnson, among others. She received a BFA in Dance at California State University, Long Beach in the spring 2009. Ms. Edgell joined Body Current Dance in March 2009.

Kimberley Hannah, a native of Ventura, began her training at the Oakley Ballet Center where she is currently a member of the instructional staff.  Ms. Hannah has attended summer programs at Boston Ballet, as well as Ballet Chicago.  Her professional experience includes being part of the Channel Islands Ballet, first as a trainee and then an apprentice.  More recently Kimmie danced with the San Diego City Ballet.  Kimmie is currently studying dance liberal studies for teaching elementary level children at California State University, Long Beach. Ms. Hannah joined Body Current Dance in March 2009.

Belinda Lutes was born and raised in Denver, CO where she began her training at the Academy of Colorado Ballet. While at the Academy, Belinda had the opportunity to perform student roles in some of Colorado Ballet’s productions such as, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Don Quixote. She also attended Denver School of the Arts, a public performing arts school. In 2004 DSA was awarded with “The Changing Image of Art” award, and performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C, an event Ms. Lutes was able to take part in. At 15, Belinda moved to San Francisco, CA where she attended the San Francisco School of the Arts. While there, Ms. Lutes was awarded the Artistic Excellence in Dance and the Yvonne McClung Choreography Awards. She is currently pursuing a BA in the dance department at the California State University of Long Beach. Ms. Lutes joined Body Current Dance in the fall of 2009.

Katherine Schafer Ostrout began her ballet training at age 11 and studied at the Ballet Ventura School, Oakley Ballet Center, and at Pittsburgh Ballet theater summer intensive as a scholarship student. She has been a trainee with Ballet Wisconsin and an apprentice with the Channel Islands Ballet Company under the direction of Yves de Boutellier. With CIBC she performed George Balanchine’s Valse Fantasie staged by Daniel Duell, Mark Dendy’s The Ritual, Neta Pulmacher’s Vivaldianas, and Yves de Boutellier’s Vivaldi Violin Concerto, Alice in Wonderland, and Peter and the Wolf, as well asexcerpts from Don Quixote and La Bayadere. She has also been a guest artist with All American Ballet Co. in two productions of The Nutcracker, and the 2005 spring production of The Fairy Doll. She is currently working towards a BA in Dance with option in Dance Sciences from California State University, Long Beach where she has been a Dean’s List Student for six consecutive semesters. Most recently, she has performed in George Balanchine’s Serenade, as well as works choreographed by Lorin Johnson, Sophie Monat, Stevan Novakovich, and Andrew Vaca. Ms. Ostrout is also working on her Pilates certification through Body Arts and Science International. She joined Body Current Dance in March 2009.

Bridgette Mcnulty started dancing at the age of 7 in Huntington Beach, California. She began her training at Huntington Academy of Dance where she trained with Marnell HImes, Muriel Joyce and Gary Joyce. At the age of 16 she became part of Festival Ballet Theater under the direction of Salwa Rizkalla and was fortunate enough to dance leading roles such as, Clara and Sugar Plum in the Nutcracker, Cupid in Don Quixote, and Blue Bird and Neopolitan in Sleeping Beauty. She has also worked with such choreographers Lorin Johnson, David Allen, Edward Liang, Melissa Barak, and Shawn Stevens in numerous works for Festival Ballet Theater. In 2005 and 2006 she was awarded top prize in the Orange County Performing Arts Center's "Tomorrow's Star's." Also in 2006 she won 3rd place in the Youth America Grand Prix for Contemporary. She is currently attending Cal State Long Beach while studying dance and working with Sophie Monat and Lorin Johnson. She continues to seek new opportunities in the dance world and plans to further her career towards more contemporary ballet companies. Ms. McNulty joined Body Current Dance in the fall of 2009.

Kaitlin Muse has been involved with the arts her entire life and in addition to dance she has acted in plays, sung in vocal ensembles, and studied the flute extensively.  Formerly a competetive gymnast, she entered into the world of dance as a high school freshman.  Ms. Muse has trained with Visions Dance Troupe in San Antonio, Texas, for four years, receiving high marks for solo work and earning two convention scholarships.  She will receive a B.F.A. in Dance from California State University, Long Beach in the spring 2009, and has worked with choreographers Lorin Johnson, Stephan Koester, and Regina Klenjoski.  She enjoys the exploration of both the highly physical and artistic sides of modern dance and plans to pursue a performing career in Europe. Ms. Muse joined Body Current Dance in March 2009.

Andrew Palomares began his dance career in 2002 with a Mexican folk dance group. Att the age of twenty he attended his first ballet technique class with Michele Jenkins and he soon began taking modern and jazz technique classes as well.  In 2008, Andrew was accepted into the CSULB Dance Program where he is currently completing his B.A. while continuing to perform professionally with both contemporary dance and Mexican folk dance companies. He has attended such prestigious dance workshops such as the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance Summer Intensive, where he trained with Summer Lee Rhatigan, Alex Ketley, Christian Burns, Chiharu Shibata, and Batsheva company dancer Bobbi Smith.  Andrew has had the opportunity to work with many talented choreographers, including Michele Jenkins, Sophie Monat, Keith Johnson, Dorcas Román and Lorin Johnson. Mr. Palomares joined Body Current Dance in the fall of 2009.

Emma Inez Storey began dancing at the age of four at Moore Than Dance in Walhalla, SC. In 1995, at the age of seven, she began her study of ballet at Inland Pacific Ballet Academy. Ms. Storey has received additional training from such schools as San Francisco Conservatory of Dance and American Ballet Theater School.  She has danced with Inland Pacific Ballet as a company member and performed in many productions including The Nutcracker, Giselle, Cinderella, Coppelia, The Little Mermaid, and Dracula. Ms. Storey is currently continuing her study of dance at California State University, Long Beach where she is pursuing a B.F.A. in Dance.. She is the Betty DuPont Scholarship recipient for the 2008-2009 school year and has worked with choreographers Lorin Johnson and Regina Klenjoski, among others. Ms. Storey joined Body Current Dance in March 2009.
